Energy in Balance

Feng Shui for the Body

We sometimes forget that our lives are affected by the energies of the earth and sky, and equally, our energies have an impact on the universe.

In order to be happy and healthy, we must learn to live in harmony with nature and our environment, and with the universal energies that are present all around us in the heavens and the earth.

Some of my remedies and theories are rooted in Chinese healing traditions. Feng Shui for the body is a collection of ideas and techniques gleaned from a variety of sources, cultures, and systems—some ancient, some modern—that can help you to strengthen the life force within you, in order to enhance your health, happiness, and personal growth.

The aim of Feng Shui for the body is to influence chi so that it flows through the body in a balanced, unrestricted manner. To accomplish this objective, I use a variety of techniques known as "cures" that are both practical and esoteric. Some of the most common cures are to balance the yin and yang forces through the use of minerals, colour, plants, crystals, magnets, light, sound, and so forth. To achieve this objective I use several different methods which create a body-mind-spirit synergy. Some of the most common cures excluding the above include meditation, journal writing, diet and exercise, relaxation and spiritual activity.

Holistic medicine holds that disease begins because of a disruption in the body’s energy system. Therefore, the objective is to heal imbalances before they reach the physical stage when problems are more established and difficult to remedy. Because your thoughts and emotions affect the condition of your body, they can have a profound impact on your health.

Chi exists in the universe as an enlivening force.  According to Chinese medicine, it flows into the subtle bodies first and then enters the physical one through the 350 acupuncture points. These points serve as portals into an energetic network of channels, called meridians that run up and down the physical body.

These meridians are invisible conduits that carry chi from head to foot, distributing life-giving energy to every cell.  Twelve major meridians dotted with dozens of entry points traverse the physical body like rivers with a series of gates, or vortices, positioned at strategic spots.  When a blockage occurs in a meridian, I use light therapy on the appropriate point, thereby stimulating the flow of chi once more.

Chi moves constantly through the body—when it stops, life ceases.  It continually ascends and descends, enters and leaves, traveling through the system of meridians and the organs.  According to Chinese medicine, chi circulates in a cyclic pattern—at different times of the day it reaches its maximum flow in one or another of the organs.  In diagnosing and treating disease, it's important to take these time periods into consideration.

Once all of the treatments are complete, you will feel relaxed, re-energised and ready to face anything!
